A 22-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted about 8 a.m. Wednesday on the Bike Trail near Alkali Creek Road and Aronson Avenue.

When Billings Police arrived, the alleged victim told them she was walking along the Bike Trail to the west of Aronson Avenue and to the north of Alkali Creek Road. She said a male suspect attacked her on the bike trail and grabbed her by the neck. The female hit the male suspect with a coffee mug, he fell down a ravine and she fled the area for safety.

The male suspect was described as a white male in his 30’s, approximately 5 feeet, 9 inches tall, 170 pounds, with facial hair, and dirty long blond hair.

Officers searched the area for the suspect and Officer David Firebaugh deployed his Billings Police Department-issued K-9 in attempt to locate the suspect. At this time Officers have been unable to locate the suspect.

The Billings Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
