Gabby Williams is eight years old, yet she has the facial features and the skin of a newborn baby. Weighing in at only 11 pounds, Gabby suffers from a condition that she shares with only a handful of people across the world. Gabby and those affected by this malady will be the focus of an upcoming TLC special '40-Year-Old Child: A New Case,' which will air tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Gabby's medical condition causes her to age at only 1/5 of the rate of normal humans. While Gabby was born eight years ago, her development has barely reached that of a two-year-old.

Gabrielle's mother spoke with and offered some insight into how this malady has affected Gabrielle.

Gabrielle hasn't changed since pretty much forever. She has gotten a little longer and we have jumped into putting her in size 3-6 month clothes instead of 0 - 3 months for the footies.

Last time we weighed her she was up a pound to 11 pounds and she's gotten a few more haircuts. Other than that, she hasn't changed much since the [2012] show.

Her condition has drawn the interest of medical researcher Richard F. Walker. Walker's research is focused on discovering the key to slowing down, perhaps even stopping, the aging process in humans. Walker believes that his research into Gabby, and others like her, could not only lead to the slowing of the aging process but could also lead doctors to finding cures for other diseases such as Alzheimer's disease.
