Now here are some true heroes in action. Chris Evans won his Super Bowl bet with Chris Pratt last month, resulting in Pratt paying a visit to a children’s hospital dressed as Star-Lord. Be that as it may, Evans still decided to don his Captain America costume and visit a children’s hospital, too. That’s just the Captain America way.
If you didn’t tune in for tonight’s premiere of DIG on USA, then you probably missed this new extended trailer for Furious 7. No worries—our latest action-packed sneak peek of the upcoming sequel has arrived online for your viewing pleasure. This is absolutely harrowing news: iconic actor and living legend Harrison Ford has been critically injured in a plane crash. The plane crash-landed in Venice, California today and Ford was subsequently rushed to the hospital where his condition is currently critical. Ford, who’s been reprising his role in the new series of Star Wars films and recently signed on for the long-gestating Blade Runner sequel, is 72 years old—making his enduring dedication to these franchises even more remarkable.
If you’re a Marvel fan and preparing for Avengers: Age of Ultron, chances are you’re thinking now is a good time to start revisiting the MCU movies—in order, obviously—before May 1. AMC and Regal are here to help you out with that with their massive Marvel movie marathon, all leading up to the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Here’s the thing, though: you’ll be watching every one of these movies in one sitting, so you should probably bring one of those donut-shaped butt pillows.
What do we want? A standalone HBO streaming service! When do we want it? Now! And that’s what makes the name of HBO’s highly anticipated and long-promised standalone service so appropriate. HBO Now is officially on its way, and the company has revealed new details, including a very reasonable subscription price. But those of you with cable who already pay for an HBO subscription may find that switching over would be a tad useless.
Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Stephen King’s It is one seriously ambitious project, and given the massive size and the generation-spanning scope of the novel, it’s hardly surprising (and even something of a relief) that he’s splitting the story into two films. Fukunaga has a lot of work ahead of him, but most challenging will be the casting of Pennywise the clown, the terrifying entity made famous by Tim Curry in the ‘90s miniseries adaptation. Rest assured that Fukunaga isn’t taking that casting lightly.
With Will Smith not returning to reprise his role in Independence Day 2, the upcoming sequel has been in need of a new charismatic hero to carry the torch. It looks like that hero has been found, as 20th Century Fox has cast rising star Jessie Usher as the son of Smith’s character. In addition, Liam Hemsworth is reportedly in talks to play Bill Pullman’s son-in-law.
LEGO recreations of trailers and scenes from films are often pretty fun to watch, though they’re not always of the best quality, as fans rush to complete and reveal their projects before someone else beats them to the punch. That’s not the case with Morgan Spence, a 15-year-old kid from Scotland whose LEGO recreations of famous movie scenes are really top notch. His latest project recreates the famous funeral scene from Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel—not the typical film you’d expect to see LEGO form, but once you do, you’ll be quite charmed.
Dakota Johnson truly impressed in Fifty Shades of Grey, bringing genuine humor and personality to a character who was entirely humorless and lifeless on the page. But can her likability and seemingly effortless talents translate to a solid hosting stint on SNL? Read on for this week's SNL sketches ranked from the greatest to the not-so-great.
A ton of games and toys and classic properties have made the transition to the big screen, but here’s one you might actually be stoked about with little-to-zero persuasion: Warner Bros. is currently developing an Adventure Time movie, based on the wildly inventive hit series from Cartoon Network.
