It seems like there are very few restaurants that still make their own desserts these days. Typically, if you order the cheesecake, you're getting a slice of frozen something made by Sysco. One of the restaurants still doing it old school is Pug Mahon's and they have one of my favorite desserts in Billings. The carrot cake.

If you don't like carrot cake to begin with, I doubt there is anything I can do to change your mind, but if you're a fan, you have to try this. As much as I love it, I've never actually finished a serving. It's extremely rich, but delicious.  For the record, this is absolutely not a paid endorsement of any kind, I just thought I'd share some info since "homemade" desserts aren't easy to find these days.

How about you?  Who makes your favorite?  If you take the time to comment, I can almost guarantee I'll try it if it's anywhere close by.
