Combine a love for art and a love for aviation and you get Billings West High School freshman, Kassi Slowey.  At only 14-years-old not only is the girl in flight school and an artist but she is also plays ice hockey, lacrosse, is a member of the Billings Scorpions, writes music, plays guitar AND volunteers at the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter. Um, Kassi Slowey for president!

The nationwide art contest, sponsored by the Air Race Classic (the historic all-women cross-country airplane race) was open for girls ages 12 to 17 and needed to produce a work of art that represented "Flying Cross-Country." Slowey was named the winner. Her painting best reflected the freedom and skills involved in flying the Air Race Classic. Her art was on display in July at the AirVenture convention that draws about a half million pilots. Her painting can be seen HERE.

A big congrats to Kassi and her outstanding work! Girl power!!
