"Don't you know I still believe?"

With The Legendary Miss Britney Spears' forthcoming ninth studio album Glory on the way, featuring "Make Me (feat. G-Eazy)" and "Private Show" (oh, and did you know "Clumsy" is coming real soon, too?), it's only fair that the Piece Of Me icon is taking a brief moment to reflect on the song and video that started it all.

Today (August 9), Brit Brit tweeted a Vintageney photo of her young lil' self on the set of her debut music video with director Nigel Dick, along with a nostalgic note.

"Nigel Dick, director of Baby One More Time. First ever music video... 18 years ago. Most precious day of my life!!!!" she wrote.

The "...Baby One More Time" video was filmed exactly 18 years ago between August 6-8 back in 1998, back when Britney was just a lil baybeh, baybeh — 16 years old, in fact.

Nigel Dick, who also filmed Britney's pop culture-defining clips for "Sometimes," "(You Drive Me) Crazy" and "Oops!...I Did It Again" and worked with the likes of everyone from Celine Dion to Backstreet Boys (and more recently shot Fifth Harmony's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" cover) saw Brit's shout-out and replied on Twitter and Facebook with some sweet words of his own.

"According to @britneyspears it was 18 years ago today. Bloody heck, where did that go?" he tweeted, adding a screenshot of his comment on Britney's Facebook.

"Thanks for the shout-out Britney. It was a fun three days. At the time there were people who questioned why I would think of making this video for an unknown 16-year-old. I told them the song was going to be massive and that you had something special. So glad you showed 'em I was right!"

Conveniently, just one day before Britney's shout-out, an eager member of the Britney Army was already thinkin' about a reunion: "@nigeldick can you please go and direct a new #BritneySpears video.shes. she needs a new iconic video #makeme" one fan asked the director yesterday.

"Thank-you for asking. I think Britney's people know where to find me if they feel the need to go down that road," he replied. The idea seems like a major stretch, but hey, never say never...she did keep reuniting with the song's producer, Max Martin, years later.

Relive the magic that started it all below — and go ahead and watch the actual video again, for old time's sake. (Felicia as the teacher!)
