Camping At West Rosebud Lake and Emerald Lake [Photos]

Finally became an official Montanan this weekend because I went camping in the mountains! And can I just say that I have never seen anything more beautiful than the Beartooth Mountains. Being at West Rosebud and Emerald Lake was like being in a movie. The mountains are so majestic and HUGE! I couldn't get over the enormity of it all. While my husband did some fly fishing, I just saw on the bank, in my chair, with my feet in the water and took it all in.

Emerald Lake Campground definitely is the best. Our spot was right on the creek and let me tell you, falling asleep to running water in nature, is the best! Not going to lie, we froze our booties off during the night. A huge storm came through about 9pm and forced us into our tent for the rest of the night, which is totally fine because I am in love thunder storms. However, we did not back enough cold weather clothing and blankets. Noting that for next time!

All in all though, it was a great weekend and I can't wait to go back again! Most people don't go camping for their wedding anniversary. Then again, most people don't live in Montana!  Oh, and note to self, Teva sandals make amazing tan lines....
