Lesson learned: Biting the hand the feeds you is an especially bad idea when the hand belongs to Chelsea Handler.

The comedian, whose Chelsea Lately aired on E! from 2007 to 2014, found herself on the receiving end of some serious mud-slinging by former writer and panelist Heather McDonald, who accused Handler of being a callous, withholding boss in an interview with the "Allegedly..." podcast. McDonald also said she was frequently "scared" as one of Handler's employees, and in a response interview with Jenny McCarthy uploaded to Sirius XM's SoundCloud yesterday (January 19), Handler said her former friend now has reason to be.

"She would never say anything to my face, she would only say it on the radio," Handler said. "She would never, cause she's f------ scared, and she should be...she’s a loser."

In an additional interview with Howard Stern, Handler said her fallout with McDonald began about four years into McDonald's time on Chelsea Lately, when Handler claims McDonald began to sell personal stories about Handler to Us Weekly in exchange for features in the magazine. Handler said they were never friends again, but pointed out that she chose to continue employing McDonald for an additional four years because she was funny and good for the show.

"It's not an internment camp. If you're living in that much fear, then get [another] job," Handler said. "What are you talking about?"
