Capcom's upcoming online multiplayer extravaganza, Deep Down, has been confirmed to be a free-to-play title.

He has also confirmed that an open beta has been planned for the game, which should kick off near the PlayStation 4's launch in Japan on Feb. 22. There's still no word about a Western beta, but there's a good chance we'll see it here in the States at some point.

Deep Down will feature multiplayer gameplay in which players can activate items to relive its memories and fight monsters from the past. They'll band together in order to accomplish common goals in a dark fantasy setting.

Though there's still no release date for Deep Down, with the beta set to launch in February, at least we have a better idea when the release window might open sometime next spring.
