Despite the enormous overnight success of Taylor Swift‘s ‘Shake It Off’ music video (which garnered more than 4 million YouTube views in less than 24 hours), it looks like not everyone is a fan. In fact, rapper Earl Sweatshirt is now calling out the 24-year-old singer for “perpetuating black stereotypes.”

The Odd Future rapper took to Twitter last night to voice his opinions, stating that even though he hasn’t watched the video, he knows it is “offensive” and “harmful,” tweeting:

The rapper continued his rant, saying:

“For instance, those of you who are afraid of black people but love that in 2014 it’s ok for you to be trill or twerk or say n—-.”

Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ video features the singer rocking a more urban look at one point, donning large hoop earrings as dancers twerk over her. Throughout the video, Swift also portrays herself as a cheerleader, ballerina, street dancer and many more characters. And while she hasn’t responded to Earl Sweatshirt’s remarks, we think she’ll just shake ’em off — after all, that’s what the song is all about.

PopCrushers + Swifties, what do you think of Earl Sweatshirt’s comments? Do you think Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ video is offensive?
