There is no better place to fly fish in the United States then Craig and Wolf Creek Montana.

This weekend I headed to Helena then even beyond there. Luke was our guide and there is slim chance of catching the feisty fish on the Mo if you’re not with a guide. It is key! The day was cold but less sunshine is better fishing. We did about a 7 mile float and boy was it a good stretch.

We used hot beads, San Juan worms and a couple other flies that all worked well on the Mo. My first one was a bit small for the MO ( 12 inches is small on the Missouri haha) The came the “Toads” ( big fish). And then the fights began, and boy the fish are feisty there. They’ve always said they fight harder and are smarter on the Missouri, because so many people fish there.

It was such a beautiful drive, great friends, and amazing fishing. Until next time Missouri river!
