According to a story from the Billings Gazette, a standoff that began Sunday evening around 11:00 pm continues this afternoon. Havre police say that the stand off began when the suspect held a gun to the stomach of a bar patron.

Police Chief Gabe Matosich told the Billings Gazette, "the suspect is armed, so officers were keeping people away from the area of the US Bank Building."

Havre police, Montana Highway Patrol, and Hill Country Sheriff's deputies were first to arrive on the scene Sunday evening. As of this morning the FBI and Border Patrol have offered up officers as reinforcements.
