Outfit Jennifer Lawrence with metric tons of fabric? Sure. Accessorize her with snakes and exotic birds for a magazine's editorial? Why not.

Compound a bloated feeling during the worst of her menstrual cycle? Absolutely not.

In a new interview with Harper's Bazaar for the magazine's May 2016 Beauty Issue, the reliably candid actress, who wowed with a experimental red cutout dress at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards, says the choice was actually her second for one very particular reason.

"Plan A was a dress that I couldn't wear because awards season is synced with my menstrual cycle, and it has been for years," she noted, before conceding that the red dress was "was loose at the front. And I didn't have to worry about sucking anything in. The other dress was really tight, and I'm not going to suck in my uterus. I don't have to do that."

Something else she doesn't have to do? Try to uncover the mysteries behind Hollywood's body expectations, which Lawrence noted are strangely relative and usually absurd.

"Everybody says, 'We love that there is somebody with a normal body!' And I'm like, 'I don't feel like I have a normal body,'" she explained. "I do Pilates every day. I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person. I think we've gotten so used to underweight that when you are a normal weight it's like, 'Oh, my God, she's curvy.' Which is crazy."

And if it wasn't already clear, you have no reason to fear Lawrence, who's still working things out.

"I can feel people sometimes are intimidated by me, but I try to do the best I can to offset that," she explained. "There is zero reason to be intimidated by me. At all."
