The New York Times has reported that Russian criminals have stolen approximately 1.2 Billion username and password combinations from 420,000 websites worldwide. If each combination were from separate individuals this crime has the potential to affect 1 out of every 6 people on the globe... or nearly 170,000 Montanans.

It appears that the criminals who have been stealing the information have been using it to send out spam to make their money rather than trying to transfer funds from people's bank accounts directly. Still, since this crime has the potential to affect so many people cyber-experts have suggested changing your usernames and passwords just to be on the safe side.
