My Friend Needs Help On What To Get His Wife for Their One Year Anniversary

One year anniversary's are hard and my friend needs a bit of help on his one year.

The one year anniversary is the paper one. So money? A Card?

Ok so first off let me say that my friend's wife did mention she didn't want to do presents...but as we all know that is not true. Is it a trap? Should my friend still get her something?

I say of course get her something and be romantic...but what if she does nothing for him. Does that make him feel like he means less or is it perfectly fine for him to get her something and not vise versa?
