New Screens for Daylight Show a Dark World Awaits
Due out sometime in 2014, Daylight puts players smack dab in the middle of a horrifying mystery when they awaken in a closed down hospital with nothing but their wits to aid them. While we still don't know a whole lot about Daylight's story or gameplay, these latest images give us a better idea of the shadowy world in which we'll be trying to survive.
As protagonist Sarah Gwynn, players will awaken in Mid Island Bay Hospital. Saturated in darkness and decay, the hospital had a terrible history. In the late 1930s, a horrible boating accident left its mark on the hospital as thousands of corpses washed up on the shore, with the injured also riding the tides for aid. A decade later, the hospital was unable to shake the incident, and the staff shut the doors forever. Some forty years later, the G&C Investments Group fostered an interest in the site, with the intention to renovate the hospital for use as a hospice for the wealthy. Suddenly, G&C one day decided to leave the project, and the city, leaving local officials scratching their heads. Further investigation showed some excavation had been completed, and twelve grave sites were dug up before G&C abandoned MIBH.
Now, in 2013, Gwynn will have to uncover the truth at the heart of all the strange happenings. First though, she'll have to escape the hospital, and the sewers beneath the decrepit building. As you can see in the screenshots below, Sarah will have a cell phone to assist her in navigating the surroundings. Zombie and Atlus promise the phone is just an aid (not a crutch), and will only serve to show explored areas. It'll even be useless whenever there's interference. Whether that means supernatural or otherwise remains to be seen.
