As I was leaving my house this morning I realized that it was incredibly hazy outside, which is quite a difference from the beautiful clear skies we have had the last few days!

The smoke from the fires burning in Canada have begun covering the Billings area. Meteorologists report that most of the smoke from the wildfires burning in Canada has cleared from the northeastern part of the state but there was some hazy areas in southeastern Montana this morning. The Alberta provincial government, which declared a state of emergency, said more than 1,100 firefighters, 145 helicopters, 138 pieces of heavy equipment and 22 air tankers were fighting the fire.

The Billings area is experiencing smoky haze and scattered showers today.
