‘Supernatural’ Spinoff ‘Tribes’ Adds ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Star Sean Faris in Wolfy New Role

Supernatural Spinoff Tribes Sean Faris Werewolf
The CW / ABC Family

The other day gave us our first real look into ‘Supernatural‘s forthcoming ‘Tribes‘ spinoff, casting ‘Skins’ alum Lucien Laviscount and ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ alum Nathaniel Buzolic for the Chicago-set series, and today we have one more. ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star Sean Faris will join the proposed ‘Supernatural’ spinoff as a werewolf, but are we any closer to a series order?

Via Warner Bros. press, Faris will take the role of Julian Durant, the “savagely handsome, strong, arrogant” twenty-something brother of Violet, werewolf, and arch-nemesis to Ennis (Laviscount). Ennis Roth puts his police academy training to use as a monster hunter after his fiancée is killed in the crossfire of the monster war dominating Chicago. The tragedy leads him to discover the truth about what lurks in the shadows (presumably from Sam and Dean) and become a monster hunter himself.

While Buzolic will play David Hayden, a shapeshifter from one of Chicago’s ruling monster families who gave up the monster life years ago and has been living as a human, here are the remaining roles for ‘Supernatural: Tribes':

MARGO HAYDEN | David’s “professional, strong-willed, determined, ambitious” shape-shifter sister. She’s an “ex-punk rocker gone corporate” who sets out to be the new head of the family in the wake of a tragedy. Margo is in her early 20s.

VIOLET DURANT | A werewolf and part of the wealthy, powerful Durant family. In a twist right out of West Side Story, the early-twentysomething is hot for family rival David (see above), but their love is forbidden.

FREDDIE COSTA | A world-weary cop in his 30s, Freddie has a soft spot in his heart for Ennis (he knew his dad back in the day). Fun fact: Freddie’s got a secret.

‘Supernatural’ writer Andrew Dabb will pen the script, executive producing alongside Eric Kripke, Robert Singer, showrunner Jeremy Carver and McG. Singer will also direct the pilot, which will air as a backdoor pilot in the 20th installment of the current ‘Supernatural’ season.

‘Supernatural’ has already been confirmed to return for a 10th season, but what do you think? Is the ‘Tribes’ spinoff cast shaping up to be something worthy of carrying the torch? Stay tuned for our review of ‘Supernatural”s February return “Captives” later on, and tell us what you think in the comments!
