On Saturday, 6 of us from Townsquare Media set up outside of Stockman Bank on King Avenue to raise funds for food, water, shelter and medicine for the hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes in and near the city of Tacloban in the Philippines which suffered widespread damage on November 7th after being impacted by the nearly 200 mph winds from Typhoon Haiyan.

Thanks to the generosity of our listeners we raised $1000 in cash donations. Stockman generously agreed to match that $1000 with a $1000 donation of their own bringing the total to $2000 that will be sent to the Red Cross and immediately dispatched to the people who need it most in this former U.S. territory. Communities all over the United States are holding similar fund drives but despite everything that is being done the funding will probably never be enough.

If you didn't have a chance to donate but would still like to help you can text the word "Typhoon" to 90999 and $10 will donated to the Red Cross and appear on your cell phone bill.
