With the state of our country and world at the moment looking a little bleak I think it's an incredibly good idea to remind ourselves what we are thankful for. When we think about what we are thankful for it becomes almost impossible to complain or think about what we don't have. So, thought I'd let you know what I am thankful for not only on Thanksgiving but always.

First of all, I'm thankful for a loving family. All of the decisions I have made in life my family has stood behind me and supported me. They have worked so hard to make sure that my life is good and they have done everything in their power to make sure I'm taken care of and safe.

I'm thankful for my husband. He is kind, patient, gracious, smart, funny, caring, loyal and pretty dang good looking! He is my confidant and best friend. Life without him would be so lame and pretty dull. He keeps me on my toes and challenges me to be the best version of myself.

I'm thankful for my friends. When family can't always be there, my friends are my family. They are supportive and loving. They would drop anything to help me if I needed it. My friends have walked a lot of life with my husband and I and taken care of us in our darkest hours.

I'm thankful for the ability to work; to earn money and pay for the things in this life. I love the feeling of contributing and knowing that I worked hard for what I have. I'm thankful for food, shelter, a car and all the luxuries that not everyone in the world gets to have. So many of us take those things for granted but I know that without those things I would struggle to do a lot of the things I need to do and love to do!

Lastly, I'm thankful to be living in a country that lets me live my life how I see fit. I'm thankful that so many men and women before me have sacrificed their lives and time to make sure that future generations can continue to be free. I understand that there is a lot of up rest over a lot of different issues but at the end of the day if you just tell yourself what your thankful for and be kind to those around you, there's not a whole lot to complain about. In fact, I would think a lot of those issues might just dissolve if everyone took time to be thankful and take time to do good things in the community and to others.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. I hope it is a safe and joyful time and if you have a few moments, remember what you're thankful for.
