The 8th annual Island X Adventure Run is coming up June 27 & 28 and organizers have found a unique way to host a run while complying with social distancing guidelines. The race this year will be a "virtual" race instead of at ZooMontana. However, don't let that stop you from joining in on the fun. There will still be a costume contest, a challenging race, and prizes.

You can register your team through June 28 and complete the race at the location of your choice. Race coordinators will give you a list of various challenges to incorporate into the race. You're still encouraged to dress up in your best island attire, with the Jimmy Buffet Award given to the best-dressed costume. Other prize categories include the "Island Stylin' Team" and "Biggest Team." All participants are eligible to win other fun prizes, including a Family Membership and Day Passes to Zoo Montana, Target gift cards, Pizza from Pizza Hut and Papa John's and more. Each runner will receive a lei and a Quarantine Green t-shirt. REGISTER HERE.

The Island X Adventure Run is a fundraiser for The Family Tree Center, Billings Exchange Clubs' Child Abuse Prevention Center. The Family Tree Center has been doing awesome things in our community for 35 years. From the press release,

Thousands of families have benefitted from In-Home Mentoring Services, Parent Education, Free Respite Childcare and Parents Evening Outs, Prevention Education, Family Fun Nights and more.

Advocates are concerned that COVID-19 has had a negative impact on child welfare and are worried that cases of abuse and neglect are not being reported with kids not attending school combined with a lot of time at home and possible financial stresses impacting families. There has never been a better time to support the Family Tree Center. Sign up for the race and have some fun while supporting a great cause.
