Our featured Wet Nose this week is a 1-year old Australian Kelpie mix. His name is Artax, and he's waiting to be adopted at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.

Here's what our friends at YVAS have to say about this youngster:

Do you need a best buddy? Someone to go everywhere with you? This guy is like a min pin on stilts and is just the cutest dude around. Artax loves playing with other dogs, and is also a big fan of kids! He’s an active boy who will fill your home with love and smiles!

YVAS is taking registration for their summer Critter Camp that will be held at their Learning Center at 2010 Grand Avenue. According to their website, Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter will have a 5-day animal-themed day camp for 8 to 11-year-olds, with the first camp beginning June 13.

Campers will learn the importance of kindness & compassion for animals through humane education lessons, guest speakers, fun activities & crafts, and animal interaction.

There is limited space for the 5 day camp sessions at YVAS, and every dollar raised will be for the care and support of the animals at the shelter.

Easter bunny photos will be offered this Sunday (4/10) from Miranda Murdock at the YVAS Learning Center on Grand Avenue. For $30 you’ll receive one digital image, and all proceeds will benefit YVAS.

LOOK: Here are the pets banned in each state

Because the regulation of exotic animals is left to states, some organizations, including The Humane Society of the United States, advocate for federal, standardized legislation that would ban owning large cats, bears, primates, and large poisonous snakes as pets.

Read on to see which pets are banned in your home state, as well as across the nation.
