Beartooth Pass is OPEN!

Yay! Beartooth Pass is now open of for the season.  Me and three of the kids had some volunteer work scheduled at the Westminster Spires church camp south of Red Lodge Saturday morning. We wrapped up work a little early, and thought we'd head up the pass as far as we could go (in the morning, the pass hadn't been open yet).

We went up to the summit to take a pic and hang out in the snow for a little bit before we headed back down to the "chipmunk spot" (seen above).  When were pulling out of the parking area, there were some rangers doing a survey.  The ranger told us the Wyoming side of the pass had been cleared earlier in the day.

Yes, there is a TON of snow up there.  And yes, it was substantially cooler. It was about 65 at the base of the pass... by the time we got to the top it was 43.  I absolutely love the beauty of that road and can't wait to get the bike over the top again this summer.
