Best Work-From-Home Dad Shoes Ever
Experts say if you are working from home, you should still shower and get dressed. Okay. The showering part makes sense, but wearing normal work clothes while
surfing the web working from home is probably going to be a stretch for a lot of us. Even if you have an important Zoom conference call, the main thing you need to worry about is putting on a shirt that doesn't have offensive words on it. Go pants-less if you'd like. Just remember to not stand up during the call and nobody will know the better.
We're lucky to have a fairly relaxed dress code at the the radio station, even during normal times. For the most part, you hear us and never see us anyway. Currently, things are even more relaxed as most of our office is working remotely. I could wear the trashiest, most offensive tee shirt in my closet and there is no one around to report me to HR. Heheh.
I normally wear these boots, like 90% of the time. This pair is starting to get a little worn, but with a fresh coat of polish they go well with jeans and I like the way they look. However, they are pretty heavy and not really made for walking around a lot. Ever since I got in a bad car accident last year, my back is frequently stiff and therefore I've been wearing comfortable shoes more often. My favorites are Hey Dude's. Yes, that is what they're called.
I've now owned 5 or 6 different pairs of these shoes and I absolutely love them. They are ridiculously light and feature a hard foam type sole and memory foam inserts. You can get them in a wide variety of colors and they run around $60 a pair. The picture in the headline is my newest pair (thanks Easter Bunny). They're like wearing slippers. Seriously, Hey Dude's are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.
I call them "dad shoes", but my teenage kid loves his Hey Dude's too. I got my first pair at the Buckle and they are available at other retailers too. Since those stores are all currently closed, you can get them directly from the company at www.heydudeusa.com or other online stores. If you're dressing down or just looking for a pair of comfy casual footwear, check them out.
