Beyonce Ditches Longtime Manager, Hires New Team
Beyonce has reportedly ditched her business manager of five years and hired a new team in an attempt to take her career even further.
Beyonce has parted ways with her manager Lee Anne Callahan-Longo and will instead work with Steve Pamon, who she brought over to her own company Parkwood Entertainment. Pamon was the driving force behind J.P. Morgan Chase’s sponsorship of Beyonce and Jay Z’s massively successful On The Run Tour back in 2014.
“Beyonce basically cleaned house, got rid of her whole team, which included her cousin and hired a new team,” said a source to Page Six. “She wants to surround herself with business people who could take her career to an even higher level. She has one album left to deliver before her deal is up with Columbia, plus she wants to make smarter decisions where it comes to touring, sponsorships and acting roles.”
In addition to Pavon, Beyonce has added former Universal Republic and Island Def Jam executive Peter Thea to her new team, as well as Dan Ghosh-Roy who will spearhead the digital side of things.
“Last year, Parkwood Entertainment created new departments and recruited new executives from the tech, business and entertainment sectors who joined the team to help grow Parkwood and its interests,” said Beyonce’s rep, Yvette Noel-Schure, in a statement. "Some senior staffers were given the opportunity to reposition and stay on. Some members…awakened [to] new interests and decided to follow personal routes.”
Although Beyonce and Callahn-Longo will no long work together in a professional capacity, Noel-Schure's statement recognizes their relationship as a personal one: “Lee Anne Callahan-Longo has worked with Beyonce for the last 10 years. Their friendship supersedes business, and while she is no longer an employee of Parkwood, she will remain an imperative part of Beyonce’s life."
2016 is shaping up to be a major year for the "Countdown" singer: Beyonce has a new album in the works, rumored to be released later this year, and she's set to take the stage at the 2016 Super Bowl along with headliners Coldplay on February 7.
