Big Changes Happening For the Better at Big Sky Resort

Big Sky Resort is one of the biggest/most popular ski mountains in North America. Whether it be the massive ski/snowboard area, or to check out the first ever 8-person chairlift (with heated seats included) there is plenty to do on the mountain.

Despite all the existing selling points, Big Sky Resort is poised to make sure that the 2019-2020 ski season is even better with some pretty big changes. Here are a few:

$13 Million Upgrade to Big Sky's Village

Big Sky Resort will unveil a facelift to it's base area dining, restrooms, lockers and more. New food options will greet skiers and snowboarders next winter, including sushi, a ramen station, a taqueria, stone-fired pizza, specialty coffee and crepe stations, plus a deli and grill serving soups, sandwiches, and other items. Seating capacity will increase by more than 350 seats for use from breakfast into the evening.

Expanding Parking Area in Mountain Village

Parking on a crowded day can be a hassle when going to Big Sky, but now the resort will be adding 500 parking spots near the slopes, with 250 of those coming in time for the 2019-2020 ski season.

The new spots will be located in Mountain Village, east of the current parking, and just downhill from the existing lot.

The resort will also bolster shuttle capacity by 50 percent in order to help match the parking expansion.

Two New Ski/Snowboard Experiences

Big Sky is adding two new ski experiences this year, including First Tracks & Everett's Breakfast and Headlamp Night Skiing. Both allow access to the mountain before lifts open to the public and after they close for the day.

Big Sky Resort Adding More Beds For Workforce

The Mountain Village is adding 75 beds for the Big Sky Resort workforce for the 2019-2020 season. This is designed to help employees be closer to their jobs at Big Sky instead of commuting to work.
