I have been tying flies for over 3 months now and I have yet to catch a fish on a fly I tied until this weekend.

As a matter of fact it wasn't just any fly it was the "Charene Special". It was such a cool feeling, it was gratifying and just a confirmation that I can tie things that fish will actually eat.

The standard San Juan is one color. I do a double color that is melted together to form a worm pattern. I have called it the "Charene Special".

I grabbed that nice Brown. Not only was this my first time catching a fish on my fly it was also my first time catching a big brown.

A great accomplishment in my book being able to land my first big brown as my first fish on a fly I tied.
