Christina Aragon, a recent graduate of Billings Senior High School, spent last weekend inching one step closer to the Olympics.  Sunday was the Portland Track Festival, a qualifier for the Olympic trials. Aragon needed to beat 4:09:5 in the 1500m and she ran it in 4:09:27 securing her spot in the Olympic Trials. And not only did Christina beat the time needed but she was the fastest high schooler to run this year and third fastest of all time!

According to the Billings Gazette Aragon will be running for Stanford and getting to the Olympic Trials is just the cherry on top! Aragon said that she had a goal in her mind. To run the fastest race at 4 minutes and 9.5 seconds to qualify and that was it.

The Olympic Trials will be held in Eugene, Oregon July 1-10. We'll be watching to see how this amazing talent does if she chooses to compete!
