Tax season is here and as you file, the thought probably crosses your mind "where does my federal tax go?" Talking Points Memo recently put together a report that shows what states give and which take from the federal tax pool. These tax dollars include Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, Income Assistance, SNAP, Unemployment Insurance, Veterans Benefits, Education Assistance and Payments to Native American Populations.
