This crash literally happened right outside my building. This means that me or one of my coworkers could have been driving on that road when he was. NOT COOL. At 29-years-old I would think that people know that driving drunk is not okay. As the article states there were five other people in the car. Can you imagine if 10 days before the holiday a car with six people in it died because someone thought they could drive impaired?? This stuff pisses me off more than anything else in the world. Idiot people making idiot decisions that luckily, this time, didn't cause hurt or damage to someone innocent. End rant.

KCTR Newsroom - In Downtown Billings, a 29-year-old man was arrested after crashing an SUV into a light pole outside of the downtown DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.
Louis Allen Cavanaugh is believed to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash, according to the Billings Police Department. Cavanaugh was driving a Chevy Suburban with five passengers when he crashed into the light pole on North 27th street at around 6:30 p.m., according to BPD Sgt. Scott Conrad.

After the crash Cavanaugh and some of his passengers attempted to hide from police in the hotel and three were gone by the time police arrived.  The crash left two passengers hospitalized with minor injuries.  Cavanaugh failed Field Sobriety Testing and blew a .177 in an Intoxilyzer breath test.  He’s being held in the Yellowstone Detention Facility for aggravated DUI, criminal endangerment, driving with a suspended or revoked license and driving without liability insurance.
