With the mega-hyped film 'Gone Girl' starring Ben Affleck hitting theaters this October, and the slightly-less-hyped 'Dark Places' starring Charlize Theron coming in September, it isn't surprising that author Gillian Flynn is getting her shot at the small screen now, too.

Entertainment Weekly (where Flynn used to work!) has confirmed that Entertainment One Television is planning a one-hour serialized television series based on Flynn's 2006 debut novel, 'Sharp Objects.' With this news, Flynn now boasts adaptations for each of her three novels to date.

'Sharp Objects' follows Camille Preaker, who jumps right back into work at a second-rate daily newspaper after being released from a psych hospital. Upon her return to town, and a return to her mother and half-sister who she isn't exactly close to, she's given an assignment investigating the murder of two preteen girls. Preaker finds herself attached to these two girls, digging into her own past to help discover who did this and why.

Marti Noxon, executive producer for 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' and a range of others shows from 'Glee' to 'Mad Men,' has signed on as both showrunner and a writer for the series. Flynn will be the show's executive producer.
