Lunch-N-Learn Program

Join The Center For Children and Families on May 17th at noon for Lunch-N-Learn at their new location! The Center For Children and Families main conference room is at 3021 3rd Avenue North. (They ask that you use the North 31st St. entrance when you arrive for the event) Bring your lunch and get ready to learn! If you attend and complete the session evaluation form you have a chance to win a Visa Gift Card worth $25! They have some amazing speakers lined up for Lunch-N-Learn including featured speaker for May, Julie Christensen from The Family Tree Center. Topic: The Voices of Incarceration Project

Voices of Incarceration (VIP) is a program designed to address the high impact of parental incarceration on families in our community. Julie Christensen will talk about how addressing all of the "voices" being affected, serves to empower individuals during re-entry, strengthen the family unit, and lower the chance of a return to incarceration.

Hard subject to think about but it is a real issue for a lot of families. It isn't fair for families to have to worry about what will happen after a loved one is released. It is good to know that there are program like this that can inform and help families in this when dealing with this hard situation.
