Michael Jordan Reportedly Donating Docuseries Proceeds To Charity
Michael Jordan's reported net worth is in the billions so this move makes some sense.
Let's face it, the world is starving for some form of sporting event, so when Jordan's docuseries, The Last Dance, premiered on ESPN this Sunday, the whole world watched.
'The Last Dance' not only exceeded expectations, it broke records, becoming the most viewed ESPN documentary content. It was the most-watched telecast for adults ages 18 to 49 on broadcast and cable networks since sports were postponed due to COVID-19. Episode 1 averaged 6.3 million viewers, and Episode 2 averaged 5.8 million viewers across ESPN & ESPN2.
When that many people are tuning in to check out the show, the producer is bound to make some money. Well, that producer is Michael Jordan and it turns out he's making no money from The Last Dance.
He’s donating his entire share of the proceeds, which should reach at least $3 million to $4 million, to charitable causes.
Jordan has been known to make huge charitable donations. In 2019, MJ gave $30 million to activist charities, along with providing relief for hurricane victims.
