No More Self Checkout?

Went to my local Albertson's yesterday (the one on Grand) and saw that they had gotten rid of their self checkout stations. I know there are many who hate the idea of these things, especially when they don't work right, but I'm hoping they're not gone forever.

Surely I'm not the only one who has ever gone in the grocery store first thing on a Saturday morning not really feeling fit to speak to anyone...hoping not to be seen. With self checkout, no problem. Has your wife or girlfriend ever sent you to buy some feminine hygiene thing? Self checkout to the rescue.

For now, if you're shopping at the Albertson's on Grand, be prepared for some human conversation. Save the sweats, dark glasses and morning breath for Wal Mart.
