WATCH: Eye Popping Construction Video of Big Sky’s New Tram

If you're scared of heights, this wouldn't be the job for you.

Have you ever watched those videos that are all over the internet of people that free-climb tall structures, like radio towers, bridges, and skyscrapers? One of the more famous YouTubers to document his dizzying climbing adventures recently died while attempting to climb a highrise in Hong Kong. The 30-year-old Frenchman, known online as Remini Enigma, plummeted to his death from what investigators believe was the 49th floor.

Construction is moving right along on the new tram at Big Sky.

Big Sky Resort shared a video clip on their Facebook page this week showcasing some of the construction project highlights, as specialized workers from seven US firms (and one from Switzerland) race to complete the project in time for ski season 2023.

Clearly, the crews working high atop Lone Peak are professionals who follow so many strict safety procedures that it would be highly unlikely they'd ever fall. BUT STILL... it looks absolutely terrifying. Watch the full-length video below.

An engineering feat.

According to the resort's construction timeline page, every piece of the new tram had to be delivered to the top of the mountain by helicopter, including over 250,000 pounds of steel and 300 cubic yards of concrete. The towering construction crane had to be built first, and while giant cranes are a common sight in cities, it's not often that you see one on the side of a mountain at 11,000 feet.

New tram cabins are on a slow boat from Europe now.

The two new cabins for the tram are impressive as well, each weighing over 6,000 pounds with room for 75 passengers. They were manufactured in Switzerland and are on a cargo ship, headed toward the Panama Canal at this time. Trucks will deliver the cabins from the port to Montana when they arrive, just in time for fresh powder at Big Sky Resort this fall. Find out more HERE.
