Let's face it: What tastes better on Easter morning than a Reese's Peanut Butter Egg other than, just maybe, a bag, yes, a bag, of Whopper's Robin Eggs?

It's only a matter of days before "breakfast" will be served followed by a stomach ache or two. Can you relate?

Easter basket will be teeming with treats of all varieties. In 2014, the most recent year for which data is available, the National Confectioners Association projected the U.S. would spend $2.26 billion on Easter candy.

Can you guess the most popular item  in the Easter basket? The NCA, in a nationwide poll, found the most popular item in those highly-anticipated baskets is chocolate bunnies.

Good ol' jelly beans remain a favorite as well. More than 16 billion of them are made each year for Easter in the United States.

The most popular non-chocolate candy is none other than those love-'em-or-hate-'em Marshmallow Peeps.

Today about 87 of American parents say Easter baskets are a household tradition, according to the NCA. Eighty percent of the total U.S. population shares Easter candy with friends, family or colleagues some or most years.

Just one more tidbit and this is for kids only. Keep an ever-watchful eye on your candy stash. More than 80 percent of parents admitted stealing candy from their children's Easter baskets.
