Have you noticed a lot of black on your Facebook and Instagram feeds today? Curious what it's all about? It's a movement started by two music executives called Blackout Tuesday. Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang started the Twitter group on Sunday and are encouraging those in the music industry to participate in #theshowmustbepaused.

CNN is reporting that Def Jam Recordings, Interscope, Sony Music, Columbia Records and other record companies are expected to participate, with artists including the Rolling Stones, Quincy Jones and Billie Eilish going dark for the day.

However, activists like Kenidra Jones are urging people to refrain from using the hashtag #blacklivesmatter if you choose to update your profile. She and others are concerned because protesters use the #blacklivesmatter tag to track information and updates around the country. By clogging up social media feeds with nothing but black screens, it's actually preventing useful information from being easily accessed.

If you choose to change your profile, make sure to tag it properly with #theshowmustbepaused, Our country is experiencing a lot of turmoil right now. Please be kind to your fellow man, online and in person. We all bleed red.
