Has anyone else disabled the "screen time" setting on your phone? You know, the feature that reminds you every day just how much of your life you wasted staring at a screen. Once I started checking my screen time stats during lockdown I realized just how much time I was spending on my phone.

So a digital detox sounds like something everyone could use right now, myself included. But it's not as easy as it sounds to go off the grid and ditch technology for a bit. However, it's a little easier when you're given the incentive of $1,000 to disconnect.

Here's the gig according to UPI -

Satellite Internet, based in Salt Lake City, said one randomly selected applicant for the "Digital Detox Challenge" will receive $1,000 in exchange for spending 48 hours living out of an RV at a U.S. national park without any Internet or phone service.

Sound like something you'd be down for? Here's who they're looking for according to Satellite Internet's website -

We want a weekend warrior ready for awe-inspiring outdoor action in the national park of their choice. Whether you’re a city slicker, a suburban student, or a rural resident, we welcome anyone to apply who’s looking for a little more nature time.

To start your digital detox, you must be eligible to work in the US, 25 years or older, and able to drive legally in any state you’ll travel through.

A winner will be announced Sept 23. Want to apply? You can do that here.
