I was browsing through YouTube the other day trying to find interesting videos to watch when I saw something odd pop up in my recommended videos. A YouTuber has been documenting his travel across all 50 states in the United States with videos in each one, and one of his stops was in Billings. But, his thumbnail intrigued me. It states, "Just How DULL & DRAB is Montana's Biggest City?" Let's find out what he thinks.

Montana was 44 out of 50 states for their trip.

The first thing that YouTuber Lord Spoda thought when he drove into Billings last month was just how gray everything was. The description of the video reads:

The first thing we see is the refineries, then we smell them second. As I drove past downtown into the city, it looked dull, dreary.

The next day, he decided to walk downtown and explore. What he found, though, was a city that was far from dull and drab. He described downtown as clean, and the city as a whole as having a strong economy. After exploring the South Side, Lord Spoda described it as "impressive," despite its poor reputation among the locals.

What is a local's reaction to this video?

It seems like Lord Spoda enjoyed his time in the Magic City, and for good reason. There's more to the city than what's on the skyline for tourists. However, we do have an issue with littering in the city, despite the alleyways and streets being a lot cleaner than a lot of big cities. He is right about our economy, which has been on the rise since re-openings after the COVID-19 pandemic. We have had some small businesses close recently, however, due to rising costs and staff shortages.

Overall, I think he got a good idea of how the Magic City is doing and I'm really happy he enjoyed his time in Montana across Billings and the Little Bighorn Battlefield. If you'd like to watch and react to Lord Spoda's video, you can do so below. Safe travels, Mr. Spoda.
