The new ZooPavilion opened Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at ZooMontana.
Executive Director of ZooMontana Jeff Ewelt said Eggart Engineering and Construction donated 100 percent of the labor. The Montana Home Builders Association teamed up the developer with ZooMontana and dozens of community members provided donations to help make the pavilion a reality.

Ewelt said the great thing about the new pavilion is that it’s going to bring in so many new and different events, from weddings to corporate picnics and special events, enhancing what’s already happening at ZooMontana.  Ewelt estimates about 20,000 to 30,000 people will actually utilize the pavilion in 2017.  The ZooPavilion took about four months to build once all the pre-planning was done.  Home Builders Association CEO Kim Welzenbach said they’re proud of the project.

ZooMontana special events use to be held in a tent the zoo staff would set up prior to the completion of construction.
