I was born in the southern U.S. and raised by a 21 year Marine Corps Vietnam Vet and his hard working, successful, Tennessee born bride. They set the bar pretty high for their three kids...so I decided to just walk under it and go into radio at age 16. After years of "town to town, up and down the dial", I made my way to Billings in 2005. That turned out to be the best decision I ever made. It lead to a great job, and the love of my life, my daughter, Eliana. I'm happy to be raising her in a place with a great mix of conservative family values and progressive ideas about inclusion and embracing the differences in people (provided they are not too liberal or from California).

New Anti-Snoring Treatment Puts Red Hot Probes Up Your Nose
There is a new treatment available now, but I don't think I have ever loved anyone enough to put myself through this medieval torture. Two metal rods are heated up to 140 degrees and then shoved up the snorer's nose. In many cases, this burns and shrinks some of the tissue causing the blockage and allows people to breathe through their nose better.
All 2,100 Payless Shoe Stores Closing
In the case of Payless, they're not only dealing with online giants, but other brick and mortar giants who not only carry many of the same brands, but also sell groceries, car batteries and pet food.
Names of Kids Most Likely to Get in Trouble at School
The two nerdiest nerds I can recall from my own past were Willard and Myron. It's almost as if their parents knew they would end up being the eggheads in school. Football captains have names like Trent or Trevor...not Eggbert or Cornelius.
Internet Threat Could Lead To Missing Teens in Montana
This is a note to parents of teens to warn them about the latest internet challenge. The "48 Hour Challenge" encourages teens to disappear for 48 hours in hopes they may have their pics posted as a missing person on social media.
Shoplifting Just Keeps Getting Tougher
In a world full of cameras and alarms, I imagine it's tough being a shoplifter. I was in Albertsons today and was told by the check out lady that I would need to back up and let her login to her register, then bring the cart forward again. Apparently, it needs to be acknowledged that the cart has passed through the checkout line or the LoJack style system will sound the alarms and lock one of the wheels.
According to Google, This is Montana’s Favorite Super Bowl Food
I take internet surveys with a grain of salt, but Google is pretty good at tracking searches and their originating locations. Still, this is pretty hard to believe. In an article from Delish, they tracked the most popular searches for Super Bowl Party foods by state and Montana's was... Lentil Soup?
America’s Top 10 Worst Fears
Good news for Montanans: The top fear most Americans have is snakes. Montana of course is only home to one venomous snake
What’s Your Kid’s Most Expensive Hobby?
Dance is my girl's thing. I am grateful that she has something that she works to get better at. It's good physical exercise and has many lessons (dedication, reward, etc.) that translate into lifelong, beneficial concepts. However...IT'S EXPENSIVE! Not only the tuition costs, but the costumes, travel, admission to performances, etc. I try not to complain too much. I assume if she had chosen a sport there would be plenty of cash to drop on that, too.
Taking Your Kid To See Jeff Dunham?
I've never seen the live show in person, but from watching the clips, I'm inclined to say 12 and up have probably heard this stuff unless you run a really tight ship. There is the occasional curse word which doesn't bother me, but the sexual innuendo might be a little over the top for my 10-year-old, so I'll probably have to pass.
No Chalky Hearts This Valentines Day, First Time Since 1901
I read today that the classic (and most popular) Valentines Day candy, the conversation hearts, will not be produced this year. Those classic candies were manufactured by Necco which went out of business last July. The company name was acquired by another company, Spangler, but they were unable to get the production set up in time for Valentine's Day this year.
